So, where did the name SuperMozo come from?

Back in the early 1990's my dad's office was letting some old computers go and I became the proud owner of a Mac II. Looking for something clever to name it, I went to my favorite musician, Peter Gabriel, to come up with something. I was, and am still, a big PG fan. I arrived at "Mozo" -- the character in the song "On the Air" which can be found on PG 2 a.k.a Scratch. It's about a guy who goes unnoticed during the day--but at night, in his junkyard shack, he transmits radio signals. This to me some how mirrored my early computing days and the infancy of the internet.

When I upgraded to a "PowerPC 7100av" a few years later, I wanted to keep the name, but in search of something a little more powerful I added Super. To further compound the silliness, when I signed up for AOL, none of the names I could think of were available. I never thought I'd ever really send or receive many emails other than jokes from friends, so my AOL name became SuperMozo@aol.com.

Fast forward to 2000, after starting up Braun Illustration & Design as a d.b.a. a few years prior, I finally decided to incorporate. Again, looking for names and none came through. Since clients and friends started calling me SuperMozo or Mozo, I said, why not. So there it is, where SuperMozo Studio got its name.

"Have the power, I'm proud to be loud, my signal goes out clear. I want everybody to know, that Mozo is here." -- Peter Gabriel

ABOUT US:
SuperMozo Studio is owned and operated by me, Jeffry Braun. It is sometimes a design studio, a music studio, a music label, a print reseller, an illustrator, photographer, video editor, but always a place for creative solutions. I could easily call it an advertising and marketing shop too. I outsource for additional design ideas, professional writing, copyediting, photography -- all when budgets allow. Otherwise, I am a Jack of all trades.

The mission statement for the studio is to complete creative work that inspires action and reaction from the viewer/listener, in any media. Growing ideas and offering solutions to design, music, art, advertising, and marketing challenges. Every project is treated with the same care and attention to detail, from business cards to complete custom designed books.

Rates vary by project. For design, I use the Graphic Artist Guilds Ethical Guidelines book for reference. I will review any requests for work. email me
